On the afternoon of August 15, on the second floor of Nanshan Chanyue Garden, a lively, engaging, and humorous lecture on women’s health knowledge was in full swing. This lecture marked the first-ever appearance in Sanya of a specially appointed expert from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. The lecturer was Qi Yanling, a member of the Women’s Health Knowledge Lecture Group. Ms. Qi graduated from the Medical Department of Shanghai Railway Medical College and holds the title of chief physician. She has been engaged in clinical teaching in obstetrics and gynecology for over 30 years, boasting profound theoretical knowledge and extensive clinical experience. She has authored more than 20 professional papers and is particularly experienced in the integrated treatment of gynecological diseases using both traditional Chinese and Western medicine, offering unique insights. She has also participated in over a thousand lectures on women’s health knowledge organized by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
At 3 p.m., the lecture officially began. A total of 100 female workers from 26 different departments, along with female workers from collaborating units within the scenic area—such as the Reception Hotel and Guanyin Garden—attended this health lecture. Among them, 48 were female migrant workers. Over the course of two hours, Teacher Qi drew on her extensive clinical experience to seamlessly blend knowledge with engaging content. Using vivid, lively, and easy-to-understand analogies, she provided detailed demonstrations and explanations for our female colleagues on how to prevent gynecological diseases and reduce the risk of the two major cancers. After the lecture concluded, the female employees eagerly approached Teacher Qi to ask questions related to their own health conditions. Teacher Qi responded with great enthusiasm and dedication, patiently answering their questions and offering practical advice and treatment recommendations. The atmosphere at the scene was warm and welcoming, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Following the event, the female workers from Nanshan expressed their appreciation for Teacher Qi’s informative and insightful presentation. They said that every year, the trade union system shows genuine care and concern for us female workers by bringing health education right to our doorstep—allowing us to learn without disrupting our work schedules and gaining valuable knowledge at the same time. This is truly a meaningful and practical gesture that benefits us female workers in a tangible way.
